Feeling alone and unloved, seventeen-year-old Iris often goes to the woods, where the trees are always waiting with arms outstretched to comfort her.

She dreams of living somewhere else and finding someone to love her, so when a mysterious tree-like creature asks for help finding its way home, she welcomes the chance to leave with it.

Her journey through the forest reveals the creature’s paranormal abilities and introduces Iris to a teen named Ian and his family.

But when she’s offered the love she always wanted, she struggles to accept it. She has to figure out whether she can let love in or if she’s better off with the trees as her only companions.

Sharon Therien has always loved the written word, which led to her working in libraries, bookstores, and as a freelance writer. Her favorite stories are set in the real world with fantastical aspects and a lot of feelings.
